Terms and Conditions

1. Purpose

These Terms and Conditions govern access to and use of the 1818tours.com website and its subdomains, as well as the booking and participation in tours organised by Valsa do Horizonte, Lda. (trading as "1818 Tours"). By making a booking, the customer fully accepts these terms.

2. Bookings and payments

• Bookings are made through reservas.1818tours.com or directly with our team.
• Each tour has a maximum of 8 participants per group.
• A booking confirmation is sent by email after submission.
• Prices shown are per person and include transport, guide and any other services indicated in each tour's description, unless stated otherwise.

3. Cancellations and changes

• Customers may cancel or change their booking by contacting us as far in advance as possible.
• 1818 Tours reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a tour due to adverse weather conditions or safety reasons, at no cost to the customer, offering an alternative date or a full refund.
• If the customer cancels outside the applicable notice period, the refund conditions communicated at the time of booking may apply.

4. Tour conditions

• Tours take place outdoors, in a mountain area (Pico do Areeiro), and are therefore subject to variable weather conditions.
• Participants must wear clothing and footwear suitable for hiking in mountainous terrain and low temperatures.
• Participants are responsible for informing us in advance of any health, mobility or allergy conditions relevant to their safety during the tour.
• 1818 Tours reserves the right to refuse participation to anyone who, at the time of the tour, does not meet minimum safety requirements (e.g. inadequate footwear).

5. Liability

Participation in the tours involves accepting the risks inherent to outdoor and mountain activities. 1818 Tours acts with appropriate safety care, but is not liable for damages resulting from a participant's failure to follow the guides' instructions.

6. Intellectual property

All content on the website (text, images, logo and design) is owned by 1818 Tours or duly licensed, and may not be reproduced without prior authorisation.

7. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions are governed by Portuguese law. Any dispute arising from their interpretation or application shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Madeira, Portugal.
