(trading as "1818 Tours", "we") is the data controller responsible for personal data collected through the website 1818tours.com and its subdomains (including the booking platform reservas.1818tours.com), in connection with guided tours to Pico do Areeiro, Madeira. 2. What data we collect

We only collect the data necessary to provide our service, namely:

  • Booking data: name, email address, phone number, chosen tour and date, number of participants and any special requests (e.g. dietary restrictions, allergies).
  • Account data: if you create an account on our booking platform or partner area, your email and a securely encrypted password are stored.
  • Communication data: messages exchanged with us via email, contact form or WhatsApp.
  • Technical data: information automatically collected through essential cookies, as described in our Cookie Policy.

3. How we use your data

  • To process and manage bookings, including confirmations, changes and cancellations;
  • To communicate with you about your booking (e.g. meeting point, weather conditions, schedule changes);
  • To respond to enquiries and provide customer support;
  • To comply with legal and tax obligations;
  • To manage partner, receptionist and affiliate accounts on our internal platforms.

4. Legal basis for processing

We process your data based on the performance of a contract (your tour booking), to comply with legal obligations (e.g. invoicing) and, where applicable, on your consent (e.g. marketing communications, which we only send if you opt in).

5. Sharing data with third parties

Your data is securely hosted through our infrastructure provider, Supabase (cloud data processing, with servers in the EU/US, subject to appropriate transfer safeguards under the GDPR). We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes. We may share strictly necessary data with operational partners (e.g. guides and receptionists who run the tour) solely to fulfil your booking.

6. Data retention

We retain booking data for as long as necessary to comply with contractual and legal obligations (in particular tax obligations, generally up to 10 years). Data from inactive accounts may be deleted on request, unless retention is required by law.

7. Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you;
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten"), where applicable;
  • Request restriction of, or object to, processing;
  • Request data portability;
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
